We found that too, and , yes, it is pretty soft. We get it in paper packaging in Switzerland.
Still I ask myself is it better then using toiletpaper made from 100% recycled paper from the region that needs less transport ?
Bamboo still comes from asia doesn’t it ?

I know from some friends, that there is a huge movement in the fashion industry, trying to make it more sustainable - interesting enough especially in the luxury sector - so they are quite aware of the problems they cause. However still needs to prove they convert plans and strategies into real action.

I totally get you - 😂 - yes, I think if you are not against it , go for it - just for the sake of the planet, because they will do it anyway, and if you help them "do it right" they will learn and spread the message .... so you never know at the end who you may reach and what impact you will have.

I really like the beeswax wraps to avoid aluminum foil or cling wrap - different suppliers will try to share the names later this week

Generally speaking I call myself „flexigan“ 😂 - as I am vegetarian, living with a vegan daughter ( makes me eating vegan at home ) - I don’t drink (cow)milk anymore and reduced dairy in general a lot. I just sometimes „cheat“ when getting cravings - mostly for a sausage or cakes ( sweet tooth)
So - I realized , that most vegans I know, do not really eat that much of the „vegan alternatives“ that much if ever. Fact is, when you start eating a vegan diet , in the beginning, you are just so used to the „traditional meat dishes“ that it seems impossible to go without „alternative meat products „ however after a while - and when really looking I to your diet a bit more profound, I must say, we do not need these products any more, there are so many vegan recipes that a vegan „by nature“ and actually the variety of dishes increases tremendously, so I can only recommend. I have the impression these „alternatives“ you need them only for a transitioning phase to adjust your diet - and - fun fact - I used them mich more often when being vegetarian then now.

On the other hand, I totally agree with you Jess, that it is absolutely depending on where your meat comes from, and how it was „made“ - it is a shame, that some farmers trying to raise there lifestock in ethically correct ways are being bullied by vegans and factory farming not that much, as it apparently is too big and powerful

Well, me too, flying is my weak spot. However, I found some interesting attempts already to produce biofuel from compost that would reduce carbon emissions of planes by up to 70 percent , and apparently the first fully electric passenger plane is about to take of in The early 2020th .... ( my case study during the CISL Course was related to the tourism Industrie ) i will try to find the links to the sources :)

However , as well, apparently fashion industries impact is worse and when looking at cargo in the first moment it looks as if the impact about CO2 is lower than one may expect, but these ships emit so much other GHG s just nobody really talks about this that much

The Problem is, that you need to produce - and to sell- in order to get the turnover you need to pay your bills. As long as customers are strongly looking for cheap products, sales or other bargains, and in order to compete you need to work on small margins that are not justified, as a single company you will go bankrupt when you produce less. It is the consumer who is able to change the industry but this requires a very broad change in consumption pattern.
